Sales
Here are some common questions that arise during our sales process...
Do you have a presence in the United States?
We have no presence in the United States although many companies like to place their orders through a US-based reseller. Our preferred resellers in the United States and other countries are Software House International (SHI) and Insight.
How are your products delivered?
All products are delivered electronically. Once payment is processed we will send to you by email a license key, support and maintenance contract information. Once this has been delivered we consider the order to be shipped in full.
What price are your renewal fees charged at?
Typically our support and maintenance contracts are renewable annually at 25% of the current list price. There are some exceptions to this for smaller value licenses which are 40% of the current list price.

Licensing
Information about our licensing terms...
What open source code is in your products?
Only a fraction of the code included within J2SSH Maverick is based upon original open source code written by the founders of SSHTOOLS Limited in the first, now superceded, version of the software. Other code (JZLib) is included in the software that was licensed under a BSD license and is compatible with your proprietary licensing structure.
Are any royalty fees or runtime payments due for redistribution?
All components include royalty-free distribution rights. This allows you to include the product libraries as part of your application without incurring any additional licensing fees. Source code, where applicable, may not be distributed to customers.
Does the license to use the software expire?
No. The license to use and distribute the software is perpetual for versions of the software released within 12 months of the license date.
If the software doesn't expire, then what are the renewal fees for?
The renewal fees allow continued access to support and upgrades. It is important to remember that your license key will only work with software released within the duration of your support and maintenance contract. Upon renewal a new license is issued that allows you to use the next year's worth of updates.
Will my code stop working if I don't renew my support contract?
The library will NEVER expire if you choose not to upgrade it. However, if you intend to update the library in your product after renewal, you must also update the license key in the source code for the library to remain licensed.
Please explain how the project/product based licensing works.
Our licenses are valid for the development, testing and maintenance of one named product or project. Essentially, this refers to the name or codename assigned to your product/project. For example, if you are developing an application named MyCRMApp, the license would be valid for the development of this application, all future versions (1.0, 1.1, 2.0 etc) of this application, and any derivative applications that share this application's codebase. The license would not be valid for the development of a second project/product that is unrelated to MyCRMApp. In any case, please let sales@javassh.com know of your requirements for a definitive answer.
Do you provide an unrestricted license without the project/product limitation?
Yes. Please contact sales@javassh.com detailing your requirements and we can arrange for a quotation.
Is source code provided?
Full source code is provided as part of the Enterprise/Source Code licenses for our developer products.
Why should I purchase source code?
Access to the product source code allows your developers to understand exactly what our code is doing and how it works, therefore aiding development, debugging and troubleshooting when customizing code. From a business longevity perspective it also ensures that as a last resort all code can be maintained in-house should the need arise.
I need source code. Will you consider source code escrow?
No. If source code is required for any reason, it must be purchased.
I need the source code right now, is there a way you can provide this before payment?
There are no circumstances in which we will provide source code before we receive your purchase order or payment in full. We reserve the right to delay release of source code in some circumstances until payment clears. If we suspect a transaction as being fraudulent, we will cancel the order and no source code will be provided.
